We offer a QUICK and EASY service for non-U.S. citizens to apply for EIN. Our job is to get your Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the IRS without a US Social Security Number or ITIN.
What is an EIN?
An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a unique nine-digit identification code issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to a business. An EIN follows the format 12-3456789. It is used for filing tax returns, opening a bank account, and hiring employees.
EIN stands for Employer Identification Number and is necessary to establish your business as a separate legal entity from yourself. Just as every U.S. citizen must have a Social Security Number, every business must have an EIN that identifies it as a unique entity.
An EIN goes by many names. All the following refer to the same ID for your business:
- Employer Identification Number (EIN)
- Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)
- Federal Tax Identification Numbers (TIN)
The EIN: Quick Facts
- Federal Identification number. An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number and is used to identify a business entity.
- Government & Banking Affairs. Similar to a Social Security number but is meant for business-related items only. As a business owner, you’ll need an EIN to open a business bank account, apply for business licenses and file your tax returns.
- Form & Expiration. An EIN is usually written in the form 00-0000000 whereas a Social Security Number is usually written in the form 000-00-0000 in order to differentiate between the two. EINs do not expire. Once an EIN has been issued to an entity, it will not be reissued.
- Cost and application. Applying for an Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a free service offered by the Internal Revenue Service. There are no annual fees involved to keep the number active. Bolder Launch charges a one-off fee to assist with the application or provides the services for Free as part of our Corporate Secretarial service.
